Coalition for the Prevention of Domestic Abuse

CPDA is a multi-agency group that recently celebrated its 17th anniversary in October 2017. The purpose of the coalition is to increase community awareness and response to domestic abuse in the community. Coalition partners include the Essex County District Attorney’s office, Healing Abuse Working for Change (HAWC) and the Department of Children and Families.

CPDA has been able to work with these agencies as well as other community groups to create an emergency legal fund for victims, a High Risk Team to monitor cases with high risk of homicide, distribute a multilingual brochure, and to provide community trainings and educational workshops to clergy, youth, and adults.
